On Wednesday 30th November and Thursday 1st Decemberthe Courtroom will hear the conjoined appeals Within the matter of an utility by James Hugh Allister and others for Judicial Assessment (Northern Eire), Within the matter of an utility by Clifford Peoples for Judicial Assessment (Northern Eire). In these conjoined appeals, the appellants problem the lawfulness and constitutionality of the respondents’ choices and actions within the negotiation, implementation, and operation of the Northern Eire Protocol. The problems raised concern the constitutional settlement of the UK, the operation and interpretation of the Belfast Settlement, and the impact of the Withdrawal Settlement between the UK and the EU and the Protocol in home legislation.
